"Aucklander's housing preferences are changing", discovers the Auckland Design Manual, who recently held an exhibition at the NZ Festival of Architecture in order to explore the 'future of housing'.

The public expressed keen interest with increased engagement levels and voted the Axis Small Home (Isthmus and Architecture Workshop joint venture) as the winner of the 'home for the future'.

Good design was a strong selling point for this home, and for voters that didn't mean grand architectural statements or expensive materials, it meant the efficient use of space with a simple, but elegant design.
